When and where are Deep Purple performing in 2026?

The tour passes through nine countries—France, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, and Argentina—and reaches, among other places, Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam and the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The highlight of the tour: a return to Royal Albert Hall

Among the dates, the standout show is at Royal Albert Hall in London, on Wednesday, November 25, 2026. In this venue the band already performed in 1969, when it performed Concerto for Group and Orchestra — a piece composed by keyboardist Jon Lord that combined the band with a philharmonic orchestra, a first of its kind at that time. In London there is also another show, On Tuesday, November 24, 2026, at Eventim Apollo.

From Roundabout to the Hall of Fame: the story of Deep Purple

Deep Purple was founded in London in 1968, and its previous name was Roundabout. The first lineup included guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, keyboardist Jon Lord, drummer Ian Paice, bassist Nick Simper and vocalist Rod Evans. The new name was taken from a song by Peter DeRose that was loved by Blackmore's grandmother, and in Hebrew the band is sometimes also called "Dark Purple".

After three albums Evans and Simper left, and in their place came vocalist Ian Gillan and bassist Roger Glover. With this lineup the band became one of the pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal, alongside Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath: Deep Purple in Rock in 1970, Fireball in 1971, and Machine Head in 1972 — an album recorded in Montreux, Switzerland, after the casino in the city caught fire during a Frank Zappa show, an event that gave birth to "Smoke on the Water". That same year the live album Made in Japan was also released.

The single "Black Night" reached number two on the British chart, the highest position the band ever reached, and in 1975 Deep Purple was listed in the Guinness Book of Records as "the loudest band in the world", following a 1972 show at the Rainbow Theatre in London. The band broke up in 1976 and reunited in 1984, and has been active since. Over the years it has sold more than one hundred million copies of its albums, won the Legend award at the 2008 World Music Awards, and in 2016 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The band's current lineup includes Ian Paice — the only remaining member of the original lineup — alongside Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, keyboardist Don Airey and guitarist Simon McBride, who joined in 2022.
