The Streets is the musical project of Mike Skinner from Birmingham, one of the most influential names in rap and British garage. The first album, Original Pirate Material from 2002, is considered a landmark in British rap, followed by A Grand Don't Come for Free with Dry Your Eyes, the project's only song to reach number one in the UK. Additional hits are Fit but You Know It and Has It Come to This?.
In November 2026 The Streets are performing on only four evenings in England and Wales. The first concert on 3 November at Cliffs Pavilion in Southend, the second on 4 November at O2 Academy in Birmingham, the third on 5 November at Mayfield in Manchester, and the last on 6 November 2026 at Depot in Cardiff.
Mike Skinner is known for direct contact with the audience, which he speaks with throughout the evening. The songs, which tell stories from daily life in the UK, sound on stage with a full band and receive a stronger sound than on the recording.
