Old Trafford — the "Theatre of Dreams," as Sir Bobby Charlton called it — was inaugurated in 1910, bombed during World War II, and reopened in 1949. With 74,233 seats (the official figure from the club's report) it's the largest club stadium in Britain, and it has been over 99% full for 27 consecutive seasons. Four stands: the Sir Alex Ferguson North — the biggest, three tiers, home to the club museum and the trophy room; the Stretford End West — the heart of the singing crowd; the Sir Bobby Charlton South — the smallest, with a railway line behind it, home to the benches and broadcast positions; and the East Stand, with murals commemorating the Munich disaster and the away section. Attendance record: 76,962, back in 1939.
