Placebo is a British alternative rock band formed in London in 1994 by singer and guitarist Brian Molko and bassist Stefan Olsdal, its two permanent members. The band broke through in 1997 with Nancy Boy, and the 1998 album Without You I'm Nothing brought Pure Morning and Every You Every Me. Since then it has released eight studio albums and sold around 14 million records.
Placebo's European tour opens on 18 October 2026 at Veikkaus Arena in Helsinki, and continues to Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Amsterdam (Ziggo Dome, 27 October), Frankfurt, Antwerp, Cologne, Zurich and Milan. In November the band passes through Munich, Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Berlin, Łódź, Stuttgart, Lyon and Paris (Accor Arena, 25 November). The British and Irish leg includes Nottingham, Glasgow, Dublin, Manchester and London (OVO Arena Wembley), and the final performance is on 7 December 2026 in Cardiff. Afterwards the band performs in South America.
Placebo's concerts focus on the music, with little talking and dark lighting. In recent tours the band has asked the audience not to film on phones and to be present at the concert.
