CBS Arena opened in 2005 and sits on the outskirts of the city of Coventry, about 800 yards from Junction 3 of the M6 — not in the city center, which changes how you plan match day. Football capacity is 32,609 seats, and for music events it reaches 40,000. The four stands are the North, East, West and South: the West is the only two-tier one and holds the hospitality areas, and the South is single-tier and built without support columns, so there's no seat with a blocked line of sight. The attendance record was set on 19 February 2023, in a national-team match between England and Italy as part of the Arnold Clark Cup, in front of 32,128 spectators. Since the 2024/25 season the stadium has had 2,732 safe-standing places. Address: Judds Lane, Longford, Coventry, CV6 6GE; navigation postcode CV6 6AQ.
FAQ
How do you buy tickets to a Coventry City match?
Tickets to Coventry City matches come through a Membership, the official ticket exchange, or TikTik. Promotion to the Premier League closed season tickets completely — all capacity was taken up by existing renewals, and club owner Doug King made it publicly clear that only existing season-ticket holders could renew. On 23 July 2026 a paid-registration waiting list opened, which doesn't guarantee a spot and already relates to the 2027/28 season. For a single ticket the route is a Membership — the club launched five new tiers — which gives an early access window to home and away tickets before general sale. Another genuine source is the official ticket exchange, where season-ticket holders who aren't attending return their spot for sale. For perspective: last season, still in the Championship, over 23,000 season tickets were sold. TikTik obtains tickets to Coventry matches without a membership and without a season ticket.
How do you get to CBS Arena?
CBS Arena is reached by the official shuttle bus from Coventry's central train station. Note — the stadium isn't in the city center but about six and a half kilometers from it. There's an adjacent train station called Coventry Arena, about five minutes' walk from the gates, but its frequency is sparse: one train an hour in each direction, and there's no special match-day timetable. So the recommended solution is the official shuttle bus the club runs on every home match — about five pounds round trip, paid on boarding, with pickup from Coventry's central train station starting three hours before the match and drop-off at the Arena Park shopping center. On regular public transport: the NX3 line from the city center every quarter hour on weekdays. By car — 800 yards from Junction 3 of the M6, navigation postcode CV6 6AQ.
Is there parking at CBS Arena?
Yes, CBS Arena has four car parks on site with about 2,200 paid spaces. This is one of the stadium's big advantages, and they operate with license-plate recognition. The matchday rate is about £15.50 for advance booking and about £20 on matchday itself, subject to availability — so it's well worth booking ahead. The car parks open about one to two hours before kick-off, and entry to Car Park B closes an hour before kick-off. Away fans are directed to Car Park C, the closest to the South Stand. Around the stadium, within a radius of about two kilometers, resident parking restrictions are enforced on matchday.
How do you get from Israel to a Coventry match?
For a Coventry City match you fly to London and then take a train to Coventry — about 55 minutes. There is no direct flight from Tel Aviv to Coventry. The usual route is a flight to London and from there an Avanti West Coast train from London Euston station to Coventry station — a journey of only about 55 minutes, one of the shortest of any Premier League match outside London. From the station in Coventry, take the club's shuttle bus to the stadium. A same-day round trip from London is entirely possible.
Does an Israeli need a visa to fly to the UK for the match?
Not a visa, but yes an entry authorization. Since 8 January 2025, Israeli citizens have been required to have a UK ETA. The cost is £20, it allows multiple entries and is valid for two years or until the passport expires - whichever comes first - and permits a stay of up to 6 months per visit. You apply on the official website or the UK ETA app. The response usually arrives within a day, but you should allow up to three working days, and you must not fly before the authorization has been received by email.
Where's the best place to sit at CBS Arena?
At CBS Arena the noisy stand is Singers' Corner, the south-east corner with safe standing. It won a fan vote as the preferred location for safe standing: more than 70 percent of respondents asked for it to be installed there specifically, and in summer 2024 blocks 11 to 14 were converted to standing there. The West Stand is the main, two-tier stand, and it houses the hospitality areas. Away fans sit in the South Stand, usually in blocks 6 to 9, with separate turnstiles and a corridor — and blocks 6 and 7 also have safe standing for them. An advantage of the South Stand: it's built without pillars, so there's no seat with a blocked sightline. The wheelchair platform is at the front of block 8, with entry through Gate 25.
What's special about Coventry City?
Coventry City returned to the Premier League after 25 years, led by manager Frank Lampard. Their last season in the top flight was 2000/01, and relegation on 5 May 2001 ended a run of 34 consecutive seasons in the top division that began in 1967 — one of the longest streaks in English football history. In between, the club dropped as far as the fourth tier. The comeback was led by Frank Lampard, appointed on 28 November 2024 when the team was 17th, who took them to the play-offs in his first season, won the Championship title and the division's Manager of the Season award, and signed a new contract through 2029 on 30 June 2026. The nickname The Sky Blues comes from the sky-blue shirt, and attendance last season passed 30,000 across fifteen home matches — even before they reached the Premier League.
What's Coventry's big match in the 2026/27 season?
The big match is Coventry City against Hull City at CBS Arena, 29 August 2026. This is the first home match and the historic moment: Saturday at 15:00 — the first Premier League match ever at this stadium, since it was built years after the club dropped from the top flight. Coventry opens the season away against England's champions Arsenal, on Friday 21 August 2026 at 20:00, in the match that opens the entire season. The big home matches: the Midlands derby against Aston Villa on 12 December; Chelsea on Boxing Day, 26 December — a meeting between Lampard and the club where he was a player and manager; Liverpool on 10 February; Manchester City on 13 March; Arsenal on 10 April and Manchester United on 1 May.
