Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia sits on the lakefront promenade of Como, at Viale Giuseppe Sinigaglia 2 — one of the most beautiful locations in European football, between the water and the mountains. The season is in the middle of change: the historic West Stand, Curva Ovest, was demolished in May 2026 and is being rebuilt in concrete, and in early August it is about 80 percent complete with a completion target of September; the new stand will hold 4,258 seats. The pitch itself is also being rebuilt with hybrid grass and to UEFA's standard dimensions, 105 by 68 meters, after being narrower before. The other stands are Curva Est opposite, Distinti along the touchline, Tribuna Coperta — the only one the club explicitly defines as covered — Tribuna d'Onore, the Palchi boxes and Field Boxes. A small but noticeable change ahead of the season: the glass partition that separated the crowd from the pitch in Distinti and Curva Est has been lowered, to improve sightlines in the lower rows. A note on numbers: there are five different capacity figures circulating for this stadium, and the club itself has not published an updated total figure — so we won't write a number here that we can't stand behind.
FAQ
How do you get tickets for a Como match?
Tickets for Como are bought on the official ticketing site, after opening a fan account called Como Passport. Como works differently from most Serie A clubs, and there are a few hurdles a tourist needs to know about in advance. First, before buying a ticket you need to open a fan account called 'Como Passport' on the official ticketing site — one profile and email for all purchases. Second, and this stopped quite a few people on the first sale days of the summer tournament: the only payment method accepted was Revolut. It's worth checking this before you sit down to buy. General sale for the season opened on 13 August, after a pre-sale for last season's subscribers, but note that league matches open gradually — on a match page that hasn't yet opened for sale, a 'Notify me' button appears instead of a buy button. The channel that feeds in newly available seats is called BUY BACK: a season-ticket holder offers their seat for resale, for up to eight matches a season in the Distinti, Tribuna Coperta, Palchi and Onore stands, with no limit in Curva Como. A linked Revolut account is required here too. There's also a rule that encourages season-ticket holders to release their seat: anyone who misses more than three home matches without notice risks losing their renewal right. Two restrictions that do exist — and don't apply to a neutral Israeli: residents of the away club's province are not allowed to buy in the home stands, and to buy in the away stand you need the away club's fan card. In addition, the club explicitly states that there may be restrictions by country of birth or residence on certain stands, and these are only published close to the match. And something good to know: Como's fan card, 'Blu nel Cuore,' is not required for home matches under the official regulations. TikTik gets tickets for Como matches at the Sinigaglia without a Revolut account and without chasing sale windows.
How do you get to Stadio Sinigaglia?
Stadio Sinigaglia is reached by train to Como San Giovanni station, about a 10 to 15 minute walk. The address is Viale Giuseppe Sinigaglia 2, Como — on the lakefront promenade. The closest station is Como San Giovanni, the city's main railway station: the club states a distance of 400 meters, navigation measurements come to about 900 meters, and in practice it's about a 10 to 15 minute walk. The second station, Como Nord Lago, is on Piazza Cavour right on the promenade itself, a bit further from the stadium — but it's the station you arrive at in the heart of the city, next to the ferry docks. By bus: the ASF city lines 1, 2, 6, 7 and 11 stop in the area, at the 'Recchi,' 'Santa Teresa' and 'Masia' stops, about 200 meters from the stadium — not at the gate itself, and that's deliberate: on matchday the municipality closes the promenade streets around the stadium to both vehicles and pedestrians, with fences. In other words, you reach it from the land side, not along the water. And a detail worth money: in recent seasons the club and ASF have run an arrangement where showing a ticket or season pass to the driver gets you a free ride on Como's city lines, in the two hours before the match and the two hours after, with no advance registration at all. The arrangement has returned four years running, but as of now it hasn't yet been officially published for the 2026/27 season — worth checking the operator's site close to the date.
Is there parking at Stadio Sinigaglia?
There's no parking for spectators at Stadio Sinigaglia, and the municipality bans parking on all the streets around it on matchday. The short answer: don't come by car. On matchday, the Como municipality enforces a traffic order banning parking, with towing, on the whole ring of streets around the stadium — Via Sinigaglia, Largo Borgonovo, Via Veneto, Viale Fucher, Viale Masia, Via Martinelli and Piazzale Somaini. The ban takes effect 24 hours before matches starting up to 16:00, and from 07:00 in the morning for later matches, and in addition the streets themselves are closed to traffic about eight hours before kick-off. Owners of private parking spaces in the area can only enter them until the temporary gates close, about three hours before the match. What there is: a large car park on Via Colombo, known as 'Lazzago,' next to Grandate-Breccia railway station, from which a shuttle bus service runs to the stadium and back — parking and the shuttle are free of charge. It's officially designated for away fans and their vehicles. From the A9 motorway you exit at Como Centro. Two honest notes: the latest order the municipality has published is from the 2024/25 season, meaning this is the standing regime but the exact details can change — worth checking close to the match; and the practical conclusion doesn't change either way, because the train stops within walking distance.
How do you get from Israel to a Como match?
From Israel to a Como match you fly to Milan Malpensa, and continue by train to Como via Saronno. Flying to Milan Malpensa — that's the airport from which the route to Como makes the most sense, and there's no direct flight from Tel Aviv to Linate. The route is strong: El Al operates up to four flights a day, Wizz Air one to two, Arkia flies daily and Neos weekly — about 28 flights a week in total. Flight duration isn't symmetric: toward Milan it's about four hours ten to twenty-five minutes, and on the way back about three hours forty-five minutes to four hours. A note for anyone who comes across headlines: the renewal of easyJet's route to Malpensa was reported in the media, but the airline itself does not sell the route in practice, so don't plan around it. From Malpensa to Como there's no direct train — you change at Saronno: the Malpensa Express train from the airport to Saronno in about 18 minutes, and from there a regional line to Como Nord Lago station. The advantage of this route is that it doesn't go into Milan at all; the disadvantage is that no operator publishes an end-to-end journey time, so plan with a margin. For anyone visiting Milan anyway: from Milano Centrale station a train to Como San Giovanni runs about 40 minutes, every hour, 17 departures a day, the first at 06:43 and the last at 21:43 — this is the fast route. A nicer alternative: from Milano Cadorna station to Como Nord Lago station, about an hour's ride, landing you right on the lakefront promenade at Piazza Cavour. Road distances from Como: Malpensa about 50 kilometers, Linate about 61, and Bergamo about 87 — and Bergamo airport, incidentally, has no railway station attached at all.
Does an Israeli need a visa to fly to the match?
No. Israelis enter Schengen-area countries visa-free for stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period, and all that's required is a valid passport. Worth knowing what's coming: the European Union is launching the ETIAS authorization system in the last quarter of 2026. Once it takes effect, an online authorization will be required in advance, at a cost of €7, valid for three years or until the passport expires — whichever comes first. As of today the system is not active and no action is required from you. Important warning: the EU warns that many sites impersonate the official site, use the EU logo and charge inflated fees or steal passport and credit card details. There is only one official site — europa.eu/etias — and any address not on the europa.eu domain is not official.
Where's the best place to sit at Stadio Sinigaglia?
At Sinigaglia the atmosphere is in Curva Ovest, and the relaxed viewing is in Distinti and the covered Tribuna Coperta. The heart of the atmosphere is Curva Ovest — the fans' historic stand, the one now being rebuilt in concrete with 4,258 seats. It's important to know that the numbering there is completely new and there's no match at all to last season's seat numbers. Opposite it is Curva Est, where, with the authorities' agreement, a full season ticket can't be purchased this season, and away fans sit in Curva Ospiti. For calmer viewing along the touchline: Distinti, which is divided into four sections, and Tribuna Coperta — whose name is also the information, 'coperta' means covered, and it's the only stand the club explicitly defines as such. As for the other stands, the club simply doesn't publish whether they're covered, so we won't claim it. There's no dedicated family stand at the stadium, and information on accessibility for people with disabilities is still marked on the site as 'coming soon.' And for entry itself — here there are a few rules it really pays to arrive prepared for: barcodes or QR codes are scanned at the gate, and a valid photo ID is mandatory — an ID card, passport or driver's license. This is stated explicitly in the terms of use, and without it you don't get in. The ticket is personal and named, and the details given at purchase can be verified at the gate; children under 14 are only admitted accompanied by an adult, with each one holding their own ticket. Security checks on persons and bags are possible. And another rule that catches quite a few tourists: it's forbidden to enter wearing the away club's shirt, scarf or emblem in any stand except the away fans' section, with children exempt — although there's a documented contradiction here, since the club president clarified that the rule is aimed at season-ticket holders. The safe thing is simply not to take the risk. And finally, an honest note: the bag policy and gate-opening time are legally binding on anyone entering — but the terms-and-conditions pages on the official site load empty, and they can't be read anywhere. We won't make them up here.
What's special about Como's 2026/27 season?
The 2026/27 season is the biggest in Como's history: a Champions League debut after finishing fourth. This is the biggest season in the club's history. Como finished 2025/26 in fourth place in Serie A with 71 points and qualified for the Champions League for the first time ever — pushing out AC Milan with 70 points and Juventus with 69. Cesc Fàbregas stayed on after Chelsea chose a different manager, and this may be the summer's most important signing. At the same time, the stadium is in the middle of change: the West Stand was demolished in May and is being rebuilt, the pitch has been expanded to UEFA's standard dimensions, and because of the works the season's first three matches are away — Udinese on 22 August, Napoli on the 30th and Genoa on 4 September. The first home match is Como against Parma on Sunday, 13 September 2026. Two points worth saying honestly for anyone booking a flight: finishing the works in September is a target, not a promise, and when it comes to Champions League home matches, the club is selling tickets for them without naming the stadium, and there are conflicting reports on whether they'll be held in Como or at an alternative ground. Before booking a flight for a European match, confirm where it's being held.
What's Como's big match in the 2026/27 season?
Como's big match is the derby against Monza, and at home it's on 7 February 2027. Como has three historic rivalries, but only one of them exists this season in Serie A: the derby against Monza, the 'Derby della Brianza.' The home match is played in matchweek 23, on 7 February 2027, and the return leg at Monza is on 6 December 2026. The other two rivalries — against Lecco and against Varese — won't happen this season simply because both clubs are in much lower leagues. Beyond the derby, three big home matches await on the schedule: Juventus on 29 November 2026, AC Milan on 28 February 2027 and Inter Milan on 2 May 2027 (against the Milan giants it's a big-match rivalry, not a derby). And an important warning for anyone booking a flight: don't rely on the match times listed on the club's site — it shows 15:00 for a long run of consecutive home matches, and that's a default value, not a real schedule. The Italian league only publishes times a few matchweeks ahead, and for Como these may also shift because of the Champions League. Even for the home opener against Parma, the club's own ticketing system notes that the date and time are subject to confirmation. The dates are good for planning; the time is confirmed close to the event.
