Ball Arena (formerly Pepsi Center) guide — concerts, tickets, and tips
Ball Arena is a multipurpose venue in Denver, Colorado, which opened in 1999. It serves as the home arena for basketball, ice hockey, and lacrosse teams, and also hosts concerts. You can book tickets to concerts held there through TikTik.
What should you know about Ball Arena?
The venue is located on Speer Boulevard, a major thoroughfare in downtown Denver, and is served by two nearby Interstate 25 interchanges. A light rail station is on the west side of the complex.
Ball Arena is the home arena of the Denver Nuggets of the NBA, the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL, and the Colorado Mammoth of the NLL. It replaced McNichols Sports Arena and opened in October 1999. Until 2020, the venue was called Pepsi Center, named after PepsiCo, which held the naming rights from its opening. On October 22, 2020, the naming rights were sold to Ball Corporation as part of a multi-year agreement with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment. Under the agreement, Ball Corporation is the arena's exclusive sustainability partner, and teams and venues owned by Kroenke Sports & Entertainment will use Ball's recyclable aluminum products to reduce plastic waste.
The complex also has a basketball practice facility for the Denver Nuggets and the Breckenridge Brewery Mountain House restaurant, which can be accessed from inside and outside the arena. A sculpture depicting hockey and basketball athletes in motion hangs in the atrium. Before the 2013/14 season, the arena's octagonal scoreboard was replaced with a four-sided rectangular one.
