Planning a flight to Manchester and want to include a football match? Start with the team and the stadium: Manchester United at Old Trafford or Manchester City at Etihad Stadium. Then choose the opponent and the match day, and plan your accommodations around them. Here is a selection of fixtures in the 2026/27 season that could be your reason for the trip.
If you want to plan your trip around a weekend, in October you can choose, among other options, United against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, City against Ipswich Town on Saturday, or United against AFC Bournemouth on Sunday. For those who want to see United on Sunday, the match against Aston Villa allows you to plan a trip around that day. If Tuesday suits you, you can choose, for example, United against AS Roma or City against Napoli. Your choice between them also depends on which stadium you want to sit in.
In December, you can see United play, among other options, on Tuesday against RB Leipzig, on Sunday against Nottingham Forest, or on Wednesday against Sunderland. For those who want to see Chelsea play away against City, there is also a match at Etihad Stadium. Before booking your flight and hotel, check that your arrival and return dates fit the match you have chosen.

For a single match, you can plan two nights: one night before the match and one night after it. This is an option for those who want to arrive before match day and return afterward. If you include another match, choose an arrival date before the first match and a return date after the second match, and determine how many nights to book accordingly. Check your flight time in relation to the match, and allow time to arrive at the stadium early.
