System Of A Down is an American-Armenian heavy metal band formed in Glendale, California, in 1994. The band members are Serj Tankian (vocals), Daron Malakian (guitar), Shavo Odadjian (bass) and John Dolmayan (drums). Three of their five studio albums reached number one on the Billboard 200, and the song B.Y.O.B. won them a Grammy Award in 2006. The band is known for its political lyrics and songs such as Aerials and Hypnotize.
On October 24, 2026, the band performs at the Sick New World festival at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas. It then heads to a series of stadium shows in Australia and New Zealand: Accor Stadium in Sydney on January 22, 2027, Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on January 27, Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on February 1, and the finale at Sky Stadium in Wellington on February 7.
The band has released very little new material since 2005, so its concerts are the main way to hear them. The set combines fast, heavy rhythms with melodies the crowd sings along to, and the energy of tens of thousands of fans in the stadium is part of the experience.
