Liverpool Football Club is one of the most decorated clubs in the world. Among the English club's list of titles you'll find: 5 European Cup \/ Champions League titles, 3 UEFA Cups, 3 European Super Cup wins, 8 League Cup wins, and 18 English championship titles.<\/p>\n

Liverpool's last championship title, in the 1989\/90 season, is remembered by football fans in Israel mainly for the contribution of Israeli forward Ronny Rosenthal, who played in the club's colors and even scored seven goals during that season.<\/p>\n

Anfield Stadium – The Home of Liverpool <\/b><\/h2>\n

Anfield Stadium, which serves as Liverpool's home ground, was built in 1884, and in its early days it actually served the football club Everton<\/a> (the second-largest football club in the city of Liverpool). In 1892, Liverpool played its first match at this stadium, and even though it held around 20,000 seats at the time, only about 100 spectators attended the club's debut match.<\/p>\n

In the not-too-distant past, Anfield held close to 60,000 spots, but the strict Premier League regulations following the Hillsborough disaster required Liverpool Football Club to reduce the stadium's capacity to 45,276 seats. Although there has been talk in Liverpool for over a decade about moving to a new stadium, the Anfield football facility continues to serve as its home ground in the current season as well.<\/p>\n

Liverpool Football Club's biggest rival is Everton, the city's second-largest club, and matches between the two clubs are in fact the Liverpool derby. Another rival of Liverpool Football Club is Manchester United, which overtook Liverpool in the count of English championship titles. Until the 2010\/11 season, Liverpool held the record for English championship wins, and in that season Manchester United broke the record and won their 19th title (today United already hold 20 titles).<\/p>\n
